I don't normally do this

Yesterday and today have been a great orgy of candy making and baking. My output isn't as impressive as some folks', certainly, but for me it's hefty and unusual:

That's the haul. Clockwise from top: fudge, chocolate chip peanut butter cookie, cracker toffee, bread, & a butter cookie.

Recipes: (& apologies if these display funky; I'm blogging from my iPod)
Hershey's cocoa powder fudgeSaltine cracker toffee
Brown Sugar Peanut Butter Cookies (I used the listed ingredients, stirred in a cup of chocolate chips, & baked in a 400-degree oven, in bar form.)
Butter Cookies (I used 1/3 c. less flour than called for.)

You'll notice there's no link to a bread recipe. That's because I didn't use one. I haven't bothered with a recipe for bread in years. It's one of those things I can just make now, like meatloaf or chicken soup.

But yeah, I don't normally do this. All this Christmas baking. I sure didn't last year! I don't remember the last time I baked this much. Hell, I don't recall the last time I baked cookies from scratch, period. This can only mean one thing:

LIFE IS GOOD!

Let's do a back-off when I'm back in Austin.
