Saturday Munchkin Blogging #6

So I was working on a post I have scheduled for Monday and it prompted some navel-gazing of the "shit, I've come a long way" variety, and that made me think of this picture of Linda.  I took it probably in '08, on the 550, but I don't remember offhand where we were going.

Things were very fragile back in those days.  We were all trying to find our footing again, with land that was rapidly changing underneath us.  But even in the midst of that shitstorm, there were days when we all were happy and the sailing was smooth.

I have always been an optimist (even though I do look both ways before crossing a one way street), and this is the soul of optimism: remembering to recognize the good times, no matter how few and far between they might be.

There were times when I was asked how I was doing and my response was "Great!  Nothing else has gone wrong lately!"  Sometimes, not losing ground is just as good as gaining it.  Equilibrium FTW, yo.

What a cutie!

Things were off the hook crazy back then. It's nice that life has settled down to a dull roar.

The wrinkles are because some of the Road Of Life isn't paved.

I like Bill Buckley's philosophy, "Pessimist by inclination, optimist by policy."

I look both ways before crossing a one way street, too. I've seen people driving the wrong way more than once.
Great that things are better nowadays.
