That's the Obama mural a few blocks away from our house.
There are very similar paintings of Malcom X and Rosa Parks on a building over on Commerce Street--within
easy walking distance of this--that aren't defaced at all.
In fact, it's fairly uncommon for murals to be tagged at all around here, although I do see more of it now than I did when I was younger.
I'm seeing far fewer Obama t-shirts than I did last year too.
UPDATE: As of Erik's Big Red run this evening, the mural has reportedly been cleaned up. Dare I think someone found my blog o' mockery and decided to make a change?

I was going to take a picture of that. I read that route every month and that picture stayed pristine and untouched for a long, long time. Just last month I noticed how it had been defaced.
Yeah, it was fine when we moved in here.
I still have my Obama bumper magnet. I might add one.
I figure hope and change is something we all need to try for, not just dump it all in his lap.
We already know Bush=Hitler, but a tagger too?
Paint away - but please, leave in 2012!
UPDATE: I was driving into work Friday and heard them talking about "your" mural on 1200-WOAI. They mentioned that it had been cleaned up but the artist feared it would be tagged again. I wondered if Charity McCurdy , the news gal there had read your blog.
Mike Board asked about it, actually. Nice to hear it made it on the air; I was asleep at the time, LOL. I have half a thought to keep an eye on it now & see what else happens to it. (If anything.)
