That's an interesting juxtaposition.

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh today when the news of the President's tax return being published hit.

Today just so happened to be Rush's annual fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  In addition to having run this fundraiser on his show for 20+ years, he always makes a sizable donation.

This year's? $500,000

It so happened that I listened to him announce the donation (which he almost immediately moved on from, by the way, and didn't hype at all) shortly before the first newscast mentioning Obama's tax return.  One of the highlights: last year, the Obamas donated slightly over $150,000 to charity.

Huh.

Now, to be fair, I'm really comparing apples and oranges here.  After taxes, Mr and Mrs Obama don't even make $500K a year, so it would be ridiculous to expect them to donate that much.  They donated approximately a quarter of their income to charity, which is frankly impressive.

Still, given how often Rush is villified in the media as an uncaring jackass, I think this serves as stark reminder that he's actually a pretty caring fellow.

And yet obama and his media lapdogs will spout off about his contribution while ignoring or deriding Rush's.
