1000 Journalists

Or so the folks at the Express-News tell me they have covering my fair city, and yet not one them could be arsed to put a story on their website about the several fires here today:

Huh.  Imagine that.  It's almost as if corporatization of newspapers has eroded that format's sole strength--local focus.

Look, I realize the Bastrop fire is the big deal right now.  But there were four fires in the San Antonio metro area today--a brush fire at Broadway and Mulberry, a structure fire at Perrin Beitel and Industry Blvd, and wildfires on camps Bullis and Stanley.

Yet the only local fire MySA talks about is the one in posh Stone Oak.  (Which was yesterday.) Fancy that.
