Just for the record...

Being cold does not cause the flu.

A virus causes the flu.

That will be all.

Next time, read the article you try to refute my statement with.

"Although the chilled subject believes they have `caught a cold' what has in fact happened is that the dormant infection has taken hold."

Nevertheless, I will be certain not to spend the winter with my feet immersed in ice water.

That is a huge pet peeve of mine! My children will survive the winter, even without hats thankyouverymuch.

I'm sure they are less prone to illness from their lack of hats than they are from being petted and poked by the busybody in the grocery line as she lectured me about the aforementioned lack of headwear.

Ah, the hats. Had my eldest daughter in the sling when she was about 12 months old, wearing a jacket and a long-sleeved shirt, (and of course, in the sling she was cuddled right up against me, sharing my body heat) & had a woman chide me that she must be cold!

Er, that is: she must be cold because she wasn't wearing a hat.
